Lee operates the learning center and gift shop in Atlanta, Georgia called "Winds of Change".

Yesterday while I was on my way to Winds, it seemed like everyone had lost their minds. People were driving every which way. It was confusing and almost frightening because, for just a moment, nothing that anyone was doing made sense.

In that moment I got real quiet, I found I couldn't participate in the craziness. People and their cars coming in mass from every direction, seeming to block any option for me to move forward. If I got in there to fight for my way I was gonna be just another crazy. So, I started to smile and beam love at all the people in my way.

Guess what? They began to move and make room for me. I got through that mess and all of a sudden it was as though my path was blessed. I hit all the lights green, people held doors for me, paths magically opened. Then I call a taxi with a driver who appeared to be from somewhere in the middle east, who had painted his side windows to say "God Bless the USA".

This is a sentiment we are hearing a lot of.  Its wonderful that so many people are now willing to look outward toward the Higher Power. Yet, in that moment, I thought about a sentiment that is heard in every philosophy... God helps those who help themselves. Meaning to me, that if we want God's Blessing (by whatever Name) we need, all of us, to bless each other. In our words, our deeds, our thoughts and intents.

We can fight this terrorism with every word, thought and action that shines light on each other. Let us call a moratorium on rehashing the awful in our thoughts and conversations and return our focus on the awesome. Then no matter what happens we will truly be living the American experience by trying to "rise above".

One of the toughest things in an experience like this is feeling helpless. Yes we can give blood, money, food and water, but we can do so much more. We can "fight" in every moment by doing what so many are urging....actively carry the light into every moment. Let us Bless each other and then truly God will have blessed America.

I give it to you from my heart, we are not powerless, we are able to make a difference. We may stay, we may go, but let's do it with style!
