"Leaving The Vatican"

Yes, it's happened. The fear, the grip, and that tremendous guilt are gone from the shoulders of individual Catholics. From now on you get to keep your lunch money. Unless you think Catholicism retains the power to send YOU to hell? Look, Catholicism has suddenly become the new ambulance for all lawyers in every town.

Most Catholics must feel like freed slaves after the Civil War. "Go on, now, you're free! You can go anywhere you want. You're not the sinning maggots they said you were."

"Shit, we're not? Really? Go where?"

"Well, for starters you could form a new church.

Around 1034AD, unhappy Catholics split from Rome and formed the Eastern Orthodox Rite, which remains Catholic to this day. A short time passed, Catholic Bishop Martin Luther left the church as well. Then came King Henry the Eighth. After being denied a divorce from the Pope, he threw the Catholic Church out of England and formed the Anglican Church. The Anglicans remain the foundation for many modern day Protestant Churches in America.

So Perhaps you need a new church, a new religion. Where the male leaders don't rape your young sons continuously. Unless you find that particular practice acceptable? Do not mistake what I'm saying. This was practiced and forgiven, practiced and forgiven, again, and again, and again. Not by you, not by me. They felt no need to tell us that they were forgiving themselves, while they continued to mount our young boys everywhere.

The Catholic Church condemned homosexuality and same sex marriages. Was this their "cover?" Their "front?"

The final cut for me is the failure of the Vatican. Its failure to show the world how seriously they considered this matter to be. The ones that covered up for so long will not resign, and seem to be under no pressure to do so. So, what have we got? "We're still going to hump your kids, and if you don't come to Church every Sunday you're still going to hell?"

I don't think so. This won't be going away. The Catholic Leaders have blown their chance at honesty and remorse by doing nothing.

I was thinking of a name for the inevitable spin off religion for unforgiving Catholics. There will be one, you can bet on it. What will they call themselves? A name, I was searching for a name. My mind hit a wall, I could think of nothing. So I asked my wife. "What would be a good name for the new Catholic Church? You know, what would they call themselves?" It took her all of two seconds.

"The Heterosexuals," she responded. We laughed loud and long. Hell, it was funny!
Very funny for the moment, but that moment is gone. ~
